# 1 "My Heart Will Go On" by Celine Dion
This song was performed by Celine Dion for the movie “Titanic.” Yes, the song was very over played and now when I hear the song on the radio I instantly turn the channel but we all have to admit for the months it was in the top 100 it took us back to Jack and Rose on the sinking Titanic. We felt Rose’s pain again when she lost Jack. However, now I just feel pain in my ears when I hear the song, but it was one of the most widely popular soundtrack songs ever! No matter what Rose says, that piece of driftwood could have held two people, she was just a driftwood hog. It’s okay Jack your heart will forever go on each time Ms. Dion’s song plays on the radio.

# 2 "In Your Eyes" by Peter Gabriel
Peter Gabriel’s song was played in the movie “Say Anything,” when John Cusack’s character Lloyd Dobler holds up a radio in the middle of the night playing the song for the girl of his dreams. It was a dream come true for girls all over the world. Having a boy blast his feelings for you via a beautiful love song, what could be more romantic? To this day when I hear Peter Gabriel’s song, I am quickly brought back to Lloyd’s demonstration of love outside Diane’s window. Keep standing strong Lloyd, she can’t fight the Peter Gabriel song.

Richard Gere and Debra Winger made hearts swoon all over the nation when Gere’s Zach Mayo and Winger’s Paula began falling in love in the movie “An Officer and A Gentleman.” Gere played a Navy Flight School recruit, who begins dating a hometown girl. At the end of the movie poor Paula is stuck working at a dead end job and she believes the man of her dreams has given up on her forever. However, as Zach begins to make his way into the factory searching for Paula as the beginning chords of “Up Where We Belong” begin to play. As Gere’s Mayo lifts Winger’s Paula from her feet and carries her out of the factory and safes her from a life of normal work and instead takes her away for a life of living as a navy man’s wife.

# 4 “Eye of the Tiger” by Survivor
Who can listen to the song “Eye of the Tiger” and not at least for a second bring to mind Rocky. “Eye of the Tiger” is one of those songs that when played automatically hypes the listener up. I don’t know anyone who can hear this song and not want to get up and start running up stairs and fist punching in the air. “Eye of the Tiger” is a song that lasted the test of time and remains relevant into today’s society.

“Somewhere Over the Rainbow” is a song from our childhood that remains near and dear to our hearts. When hearing “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” everyone is taken to a time when we were still innocent. It’s a song that represents our childhoods. When Judy Garland sang her heart out, she sang right into all of our hearts. She will never be forgotten because of this single song.

# 6 “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen
If you tell me that you have listened to “Bohemian Rhapsody” while driving down the road and you haven’t head banged, I would never believe you. “Wayne’s World” help bring this song back to life for a whole new generation and soon they had everyone head banging away with them. “Wayne’s World” may have been an “interesting” movie, that I didn’t quite get but I definitely got the importance of Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody.”
Listen to "I Will Always Love You"
- The Bodyguard - I Will Always Love You ( Final Scene ) - YouTube
One of my favorite songs in this movie scene. With my favorite actor Kevin Costner and the great singer Whitney Houston. R.I.P Whitney Houston. God be with you.
#7 “I Will Always Love You” by Whitney Houston
Whitney Houston brought Dolly Parton’s song back to life for her movie “The Bodyguard.” “The Bodyguard” was a good start for Whitney Houston’s acting career but it was the song that really took off. Staying on the top one hundred charts for months, Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” easily surpassed Parton’s version.

# 8 “I’ve Had the Time of My Life” by Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes
If this song doesn’t bring you back to Baby and Johnny’s dancing days then you are a stronger woman than I am. I can’t help but be brought back to “the lift” performed by Jennifer Grey and Patrick Swayze’s characters during the performance of this song. “Dirty Dancing” was a defining movie of the 80s generation and there has never been another dancing movie made like it and I doubt there ever will be. No one puts Baby in the corner! Darn straight!
Listen to "Secret Garden"
# 9 “Secret Garden” by Bruce Springsteen
There isn’t a lot of things that I can say about the movie “Jerry Maguire,” it created those terrible catch phrases “Show me the money” and “You had me at hello,” ugh! However, one beautiful thing to come out of the movie was Bruce Springsteen’s beautiful song “Secret Garden.” This is one of Springsteen’s realest and down to earth performance and he just hits this one out of the park. It may not have been originally created for the movie but after being featured in the movie “Jerry Maguire” it saw an increase on the charts.

# 10 (Everything I Do) I Do It for You by Bryan Adams
I was a teenager when “Robin Hood Prince of Thieves” came out in the movie theaters and I was in love with the idea that a man could love a woman so much that everything they did, they did it for the woman they loved. This soft rock ballad spent seven weeks on the top one hundred charts after being featured in the Kevin Costner’s “Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves” feature film. It performed even better in the UK staying on the charts for 16 consecutive weeks.

# 11 “Glory of Love” by Peter Cetera
“Glory of Love” was featured in the film “Karate Kid 2”, when young Danielson is falling for a young lady living in Okinawa. Daniel is faced with a much greater fight in the second Karate Kid. It is a fight for much more than a trophy it is a fight of life or death. If you have seen Karate Kid 2, you may recall the hand held drums, when turned, a ball on a string pounds the drum skin, imitating the move Daniel uses to defeat his enemy and safe his girl
Listen to "Unchained Melody"
# 12 “Unchained Melody” by The Righteous Brothers
This song was featured in Patrick Swayze’s movie “Ghost” and it will forever go down in time as the sexy pottery make out scene song. Patrick Swayze’s and Demi Moore’s hands never looked so naughty before. Who knew making pottery could be so sexy. I would assume making anything with Patrick Swayze could have been made into a sexy moment but The Righteous Brother’s “Unchained Melody” took the moment above and beyond. I think I need to get myself a pottery wheel and room.
